As many of you know, on Thanksgiving of 2011 my father was diagnosed with stage 4 of Lymphatic cancer. He was treated with chemo for six months and was in remission by June! God was so faithful to us as He carried us through this difficult time! Last Tuesday, during one of his check ups, the doctors found that his cancer was back full throttle. As scary as this news was we knew that God was still in control. This time around the doctors are taking a stronger approach to defeat the cancer once and for all.
Today my dad began a much more intense chemo that requires him to be admitted into the hospital for three days to keep a close eye on him and make sure there are not any complications. This time around, instead of going in for Chemo 6 times it will only be 3 times and instead of once every month, it will be every two weeks. At the end of this process he will then need to undergo a Bone Marrow transplant.
These next few months are going to be a bumpy road, but we know that God will not let us take more then we can handle! We ask that everyone be praying for physical and emotional strength for the family, especially my dad. At times like these, your prayers and positive reinforcements are what we need! The De Santino family would like to thank everyone for their love and concerns.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Our hearts go out to you guys. Stay strong! We will keep you in our prayers.
